Learndro Castelao 0

I recently discovered Learndro Castelao intricate screen prints. Usually relatively small but very detailed 5+ colour screen prints with ultra thin strokes that show off some real prowess screen technique.

Unforuntately his shop online isn’t working but they’re available to buy at Kemsitry Gallery where I saw them last week.

Jimmy Turrell’s illustrations and graphic artworks remind me a bit of drug induced night terrors in places but despite make your pants a little more moist than usual, there’s some good illustrations for his impressive set of clients including the like of the Gaudrian and Glasto 2009. It seems to be pretty clear in his work that music and retro gaming icons play a big part in inspiring Jimmy’s material.

Blue River emailed us to let us know about their new website. Showcasing an impressive collection of work for mainly the arts and culture sectors with the Baltic in Newcastle being a loyal and reoccurring client—explained by their close proximity to the Baltic. A good mix of strong typography and illustration with some a lot of good print work thrown in for good measure as well as some nice identity work for the Baltic Shop.

HelloMarine, a French illustrator now based in Brighton has work with a touch of Parisian flair with some buried gems. Greeted with a great example, it’s unfortunate that when entering the site the text is presented in a gaudy turquoise on white which gave us a headache.

Marine’s obviously been doing well though with an impressive roster of clients including The Big Chill Festival, Penguin Editions and Coca-Cola. She’s also been busy selling her wares online and through specialist stockists like Edinburgh’s Red Door Gallery who we have a soft spot for here at FFF.

Stephane Coedel 0

Very evocative animation from skilled animator Stephane Coedel. Stephane creates an amazing sense of atmosphere through his choice of medium and style. Recently he’s had the opportunity to work on animations fro The Beatles version of Rockband.

Hampus Jageland (who we’ve featured before) emailed us recently to let us know about Maud (which I can’t help but saying in a French accent). Based in Sydney, they’ve a nice variety of work focusing on packaging and fashion branding. To top it all off they’re also looking for new members to join their design team. If you’re in the Sydney area, they’re worth checking out.

Kemistry 0

Kemistry, the people who make the London gallery devoted to graphic design, Kemistry Gallery, possible have recently redesigned there site. There’s some very slick design and branding work in their folio reflected in this clean and considered redesign, even if the navigation system seems a little too in-depth for my liking.
