I’m always amazed at the versatility of textile design, how a few different techniques; weaving, knitting, embroidery etc make up pretty much every garment we will ever wear.
A stunning example of craftsmanship in this amazing piece of knitted couture lingerie. Designed and handmade by London’s very own, Strumpet and Pink.
Very cool hottie botties (hot water bottles) from Montreal based designer Janice Yan-Yan Wu.

This sophisticated privacy protection garment brought a smile to my face today. I think I’ll be attempting something similar soon.

Lots of knitted graffiti goodness from collective artist group Knit The City. Would of loved to of seen this in context on location.

Really satisfying spreads from PaperObject using a mix of flat graphic work and origami paper bjects to enhance the shapes and patterns they form to great effect.

Wow what a day, I managed to secure the day off work thanks to the freakish weather in the UK over the last few days and had an amazingly productive morning thanks to my house mate by building a monster of a snow dude. Personally, I feel it was a morning well used.
So in celebration of the wintery weather here’s a couple of new tee designs that caught my eye today including this years winner of Threadless Bestee—which reminds me of the foxes we get roaming the streets of London at night.
Very Rob Ryan-esque.
Oh and also I secured a place on DayTum, but more to come on that soon.
I’ve been busy again making more and more yetis, this time for a friend north of the border in Edinburgh. I took some photos (the last few in this set) of them before sending them out a few weeks ago but never got round to publishing them on here.
They’re made from alpacha yarn that give them a beautiful chunky, soft look and feel. The yarn came all the way from The Yarn Tree in New York. If I’m ever across again I’ll have to stop by and check it out—I’m told it’s an amazing shop.
Stunning animation showing the making of The Seed by John Kelly. The Seed is an short animation created for Adobe to promote their latest line of products, Creative Suite 4. Simple and well crafted, this animation shows of the wit and attention to detail that Kelly demonstrated in his hit animation last year, Procrastination.

I’ve been busy again making some of my knitted monsters called yetis. One that I finished a while back for friend and illustrator Emily Sutton, sent me some photos of him on a building site of her new house which I thought I’d share.
If you’ve bought one of my Yetis, I’d love for you to send me some photo’s of it in their new habit. Send them to made[at]sansgil.com.
