Laurent Nivalle Le Mans Classic 0

Absolutely gorgeous photography from French artist Laurent Nivalle of the 2010 Le Mans Cassic. It reminds a lot of the work on show in the book Go Faster which I reviewed for FormFiftyFive earlier in the year.

Aaron Miller has done a sterling job of creating a really interesting header illustration for this week over at FormFiftyFive. I’ll even go out on a limb and say it’s up there in my top 5 that have been created for the site since we redesigned it last year. For me the best ones have been those that play with the space, change on a daily basis or think of the area as more than just an illustration space.
There’s only today and tomorrow to see it on show at FormFiftyFive so head over if you haven’t already seen it and check out Aaron’s full folio site for some more gems.
Filled with a sense of glee and satisfaction as I’ve just spotted my knitted Yehtis got a mention on the very cool and cute blog, Monster-Munch.
I still absolutely adore the work of ISO50. I just spotted an interesting interview with ISO50 over at grain edit.

I caught this excellent parody of the Catch Me If You Can title sequence on The Simpsons a couple of weeks back. You can watch the full Simpsons Catch Me If You Can parody or watch the original title sequence over at The Art of Titles.
The original title sequence for Catch Me If You Can has to be one of my favourites, directed by Kuntzel+Deygas and produced by Nexus Productions. Whilst researching both title sequences, I also came across another one of my favourite title sequences for Thank You For Smoking by Shadow Play Studio. If you’re interested in the title sequence for Thank You For Smoking check out these stills on flickr.

Just a quick update, as I know it’s been a while. I’ve added a recent motion video project for FormFiftyFive, documenting the making of issue 1 of 6×10. Find out more about 6×10: Making of on my portfolio website, http://www.sansgil.com.
Finally, I’ve been swept up in the whole Twitter malarkey particularly since I last posted. In that same vain, I’ve resurrected my older Tumblr which I think may well be the new Twitter-come-blog. Expect to see this blog transferring to Tumblr very soon.
